The CCHS Library will celebrate Read Across America with a variety of events Feb. 27 – March 2. Read Across America is a national celebration, sponsored by the NEA, to recognize the importance of and encourage the practice of reading with our children. This year’s theme is an environmental one based on The Lorax, opening in theaters on March 2 (Dr. Seuss’ birthday). To join the CCHS celebration, join us for these GREEN events:
Mon., Feb. 27: Wear your pjs and make a pledge to GO GREEN during your lunch period.
Tues., Feb. 28: Wear black and white. Come by the library to guess how many GREEN M&Ms are in the jar. Winner takes all!
Wed., Feb. 29: Dress like a nerd and listen for the library to offer conGREENulations to our top patrons.
Thurs., March 1: Dress for your chosen career. Come by the library to guess how many pages are in the GREEN book.
Fri., March 2: Join the entire county to “Get your GREEN On.” Wear green and sign up to attend the Open Mic’ Literary Lunch in the library. Special green treats will be offered!! Sign ups through Feb. 29!
The CCHS Student Book Club will meet in the library on Wednesday, Feb. 15, during skinny block. Our topic of discussion: Ally Condie’s Matched. To gear up, check out the website below for the author video, book trailer, and discussion questions. Wow…I love this book! See you at Book Club!
