The CCHS Library is thrilled to announce its upcoming events for Teen Read Week 2012! This year’s theme is “It Came From the Library,” so our week will be filled with spooky and chilling treats! Everyone is invited to participate in all events; Books-a-Million gift cards will be awarded for the winners of the bookmark, short story, and costume contests. Other winners and participants will receive sweet treats!
Very, Very Scary Bookmark and Short Story Contests: Design a spooky bookmark to illustrate this year’s TRW theme or write a very spooky short story. Entries must be submitted to Mrs. Nichols by Wednesday, Oct. 17. Entry forms and guidelines available in the library or from your skinny block teacher.
**Destiny Quest, Posterous, and Twitter campaigns: Create your DestinyQuest account with Mrs. Nichols or sign up to follow us on Twitter and Posterous and be entered into a drawing to win a prize on Friday
**Book Confession Submissions: Celebrate the 2012 “It Came from the Library” TRW by submitting a book review of the scariest book you have ever read and receive a sweet treat for your frightening confession. (Confession Forms in Library)
**Get Caught Reading: Bring your book with you to Skinny Block each day; We’ll Stop, Drop, and Read!
Student Booktalks: Each day during morning announcements, a student or faculty member will advertise a recent read to encourage others to check it out.
