Twenty-one CCHS students completed their goal of becoming a 2015 Volunteer State Book Award Reader. To do so, each student read at least three of the titles nominated in the high school division. To celebrate, Mrs. Nichols hosted a voting/pizza party in the library. Topping the vote list @ CCHS….Cinder by Marissa Meyer. Not far behind were Mike Mullen’s Ashfall and Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys. We can’t wait to hear how the rest of the state voted! Congratulations to all!
Ms. Moore’s Marketing students entered CavLibrary with presentation boards in hand and a sales pitch in their head, ready to market their product to the Cavalier Community. Trade fair visitors cast their vote with fake cash placed in the entrepreneur’s jar. The Best of Show winner was Taylor Cass, 2nd place was Nathanael Blankenship, and 3rd place was Evelyn Estrada. Honorable Mention was awarded to Alex Hill. Congratulation to the winners, and many thanks to the fellow Cavaliers who spent their time at the fair. We are sold!

CavLibrary was once again thrilled to host the amazing works of Ms. Jennifer Allen’s art students. The exhibit included illuminated letters, self portraits, oil paintings, and other media. Several works on display were also entered in and judged for the 2015 Congressional Art competition. Parents and community members joined students to view the gallery on Thursday, April 24, for refreshments and an awards ceremony. Great thanks to Ms. Allen, her talented students, teachers, parents, and friends who took the time to visit the exhibit.
